Autumn 2025 COVID-19 and Flu vaccination programme

The Grove Medical Centre would like to make you aware that this year we will be delivering the autumn 2025 COVID-19 vaccination programme in-house. This means that from the 1st of October 2025 our doctors and clinicians will be offering vaccination appointments at the practice. If you are eligible for both, you could have your Covid and flu vaccination at the same appointment. We will invite eligible patients in due course either by text message, phone or letter. Our first and largest clinic will be on Saturday the 4th of October. 

The following cohorts are eligible for the Covid vaccine:

- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book, the UK Health Security Agency’s information on immunisation against infectious disease

In line with JCVI advice, frontline health and social care workers (HSCWs) and staff working in care homes for older adults will NOT be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination under the national programme for autumn 2025.

The following cohorts are eligible for flu vaccination ONLY:

- those aged 65 years and over, (including those due to turn 65 years on or before 31 March 2026)
- those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Influenza chapter of the Green Book)
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person,
- household contacts of immunocompromised individuals,
- frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those who are employed byindividuals who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants.
